2006 WFDF World Juniors Championships
Ultimate teams from around the world competed at the
2006 World Ultimate Juniors Championships
(WJUC) with games beginning August 14th and running through Championship games held August 18th.
Games were played in the United States at the
Devens Recreational Facility
in Devens, MA, about 40 miles from Boston.
Hosted by the New England Ultimate Association (NEUA) and the Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance (
BUDA
) these were the 13th biennial Championships held by the World Flying Disc Federation for the world’s top under-20 Ultimate teams.
Twelve national teams from 8 countries competed in two divisions (Boys and Girls, also known as Junior Open and Junior Women) with teams from Australia, Canada, Colombia, Great Britain, Finland, Israel, Sweden, and the United States attending.
After 3 days of round robin play both the men's and women's champion games featured teams from Canada and the US, with the United States taking the gold in both divisions.

Geoff Doerre (pictured right) began playing ultimate for the UPenn Void in the late 80s and has since clogged on a number of Philadelphia and Boston club teams.
He is currently head of the Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance, and also the UPA Open Club Regional Coordinator for the Northeastern U.S.
